Located in San Bernardino County, the city of Fontana continues to be one of the fastest growing cities for California residents outside of real estate in Los Angeles County. The 2010 U.S. Census of Population and Housing shows the population reached 196,069, a 52.1 percent increase since 2000 while California's overall population grew 10 percent.

The homeowner vacancy rate was 2.6 percent while the rental vacancy rate was 6 percent. The median value of owner-occupied housing units between 2006 and 2010 was $346,700 while the average rent paid each month was $1,083. Both are well below regional averages.
The 2010 census listed the median age as around 29 years old, and 32.9 percent of residents were under the age of 18 while just 5.7 percent were 65 years of age or older.
Homes for sale in Los Angeles could continue to see multiple offers, as mortgage rates have remained near all-time lows despite rising in two consecutive weeks.
