The family behind Kohl's department stores has reportedly sold their penthouse home in Santa Monica for $10.5 million. The Los Angeles Times reports that Allen and Anita Kohl listed the home at $12.995 million in October last year. The couple reportedly purchased the unit for $8.1 million in 2003.
The lofty penthouse has 8,000 square feet of living space including five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Other features of the unit include floor-to-ceiling glass window walls that offer a 360-degree view, an office, media room, library and two master suites. Outside, the home has a large rooftop deck complete with a spa and barbecue which may be perfect for entertaining guests.
The unit sits on the top floor of the building, which was built in 1963 but gained many updates after being renovated in 2004. Some resident amenities include 24-hour security, two direct-access elevators, gardens, fountains and a top-of-the-line fitness center.
The Kohl family may be moving out of Santa Monica, but sources say they are likely to stay in Southern California.
