Celebrity real estate sites are buzzing that the former home of rock legend Jim Morrison has joined the list of homes for sale in Los Angeles County. While it last sold for $535,000 in 2001, it now has a much higher asking price of $1.199 million.
Morrison is best known as the frontman of rock band The Doors, who put out a number of hits including Light My Fire, Love Her Madly, Strange Days and Break on Through. A native to Florida, Morrison moved around frequently as a child and resided in California for much of his life.
The home was constructed in 1922 and offers 1,311 square feet of living space including three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was later renovated in 1950 but remains a single-story estate, located on Love Street, which is said to have inspired the same-named song.
Some notable features of the home include its location in Laurel Canyon which offers views of the city. Other highly-desirable amenities, such as the outdoor gym, beamed ceilings and distressed hardwood floors, should have buyers eager to move into the house.
