Fans of the Broadway classic Peter Pan may be excited to hear that the former home of Mary Martin was recently listed for sale. While Martin's husband paid just $42,500 for the home back in 1940, the estate has an asking price of $10.5 million, much closer to most homes listed for sale in Los Angeles County.
Martin played the male role of Peter Pan but is also known for starring in The Sound of Music and South Pacific. She was married to Richard Halliday, an executive of Paramount Studios, while her son, Larry Hagman, followed in their show biz footsteps to also become an actor.
The Bel Air home was designed by architect Austen Pierpont and is located in a historic and celebrity filled neighborhood. The estate was constructed in 1928 and sits on nearly an acre of land, offering seven bedrooms and five bathrooms, as well as a separate guest house.
The home also has a large backyard, swimming pool included, and a number of other upgrades including a library, study, leaded glass windows and a gabled roof.
